The 600 years old Nikolaus- Monastery accomodates the 1st sustainable summer school in a beautiful green area of North Rhine-Westfalia (NRW) in Germany.

The old monastery is situated in a green suburban area of the Rhein/Ruhr metropolitan region. The monastery offers a simple but healthy full-board accomodation and a broad estate for creative design walks. It is also a vantage point for field-trips to Essen, Cologne and the

Museum Island Hombroich

The museum island Hombroich offers a museum experience of quite a different kind. In 1987 a museum was built that not only presents but also produces under the Cezanne motto "Art Alongside Nature".

Missile station/Langen Foundation: The Langen Foundation is located within the Missile Station Hombroich, one of NATO's former bases and part of the Hombroich culture area.The buildin contain the Viktor and Marianna Langen collection which spans almost five hundred Japanese artworks and three hundred contemporary works.

RUHR.VISITORCENTER in the Ruhr Metropolis

Visitor Centers are being created in five central locations to function as tourist "hubs" for the Ruhr Metropolis.They are the arrival terminals at the heart of newly developed urban centres containing an attractive mix of venues, events and cultural facilities of every shape and size. Essen, Duisburg, Oberhausen, Bochum and Dortmund are the locations for the Visitor Centers.

Sightseeing in Cologne

Cologne was built on ground that is steeped in history. Numerous cultural monuments from the past 2000 years, such as the famous Roman Dionysus mosaic, the medieval Overstolzenhaus and the Gürzenich Hall, as well as modern structures such as the opera house (1957) and the Media Park (from 1989 onwards) are found in this city.
